Coastal conditions can be challenging for skin. As cancer lead for Brighton and Hove CCG (2013-2016) I audited the rate of different cancers in the city. I found that our South coast in East and West Sussex has double rate of skin cancer compared with the national average. As a consultant dermatologist, I am recognised by the regulatory GMC to diagnose skin cancers. Dermatology is the only specialty where trainees spend years studying skin cancer. If you have a worry about your skin problems, including moles, lumps, bumps or rashes, you can see me as a private dermatologist. I have regular private dermatology clinics along the South coast in East and West Sussex, including The BMI Esperance in Eastbourne, The Spire Montefiore in Hove and the BMI Goring Hall Hospital near Worthing.
